UK National Oceanographic Center
The National Oceanography Center research is organised into five main areas: Marine Geoscience, Ocean Biogeochemistry and Ecosystems, Marine Systems Modelling, Marine Physics and Ocean Climate, and Ocean Technology and Engineering.
It models:
- the ocean circulation and heat transport,
- marine ecosystems,
- sea-ice,
- turbulence,
- surface waves,
- sediment transport,
- tides and storm surges.
It combines satellites and insitu observations to model:
- ocean cirulation,
- surface processes,
- coastal ocean processes,
- sea level and ocean climate.
Address: European Way, Southampton, United Kingdom.
