Description / Description :

L’objet du présent appel d’offres concerne des activités de R&D axées sur l’amélioration des produits modèles du service marin du programme Copernicus dans la zone des mers du plateau nord-ouest de l’Europe.   Le service sur cette zone doit évoluer d’ici fin 2023 en raison d’un changement d’opérateur lié au Brexit. Les nouveaux produits destinés à cette région seront fabriqués selon les mêmes modèles que ceux utilisés pour les produits de la zone IBI (Iberia Biscay Irish). Le Copernicus Marine Service a besoin d’études détaillées sur la qualité des produits correspondants de prévision et de réanalyse ; des études pour évaluer l’impact de différents types de conditions aux frontières  latérales sur la solution du modèle IBI en mer du Nord ; des études de conception axées sur la zone de la mer du Nord pour comprendre si et comment cette composante du service marin de Copernicus doit évoluer.

Les activités et développements doivent améliorer la connaissance de la précision de la solution proposée par le service Copernicus Marine et identifier les développements modèles visant à améliorer la qualité des futurs produits.

Le résultat de ces activités façonnera l’offre Copernicus dans l’Atlantique du Nord-Est et la mer du Nord après 2024.

The subject of this call for tenders concerns R&D activities focused on the improvement of model products of the marine service of the Copernicus program in the northwest European shelf. The service in this area must evolve by the end of 2023 due to a change of operator linked to Brexit. The new products for this region will be developed according to the same models as those used for the products of the IBI zone (Iberia Biscay Irish). The Copernicus Marine Service needs detailed studies on the quality of the corresponding forecast and reanalysis products; studies to assess the impact of different types of lateral boundary conditions on the North Sea IBI model solution; design studies focused on the North Sea area to understand if and how this component of the Copernicus marine service should evolve.

Activities and developments should improve knowledge of the accuracy of the solution offered by the Copernicus Marine service and identify model developments aimed at improving the quality of future products.

The outcome of these activities will shape the Copernicus offer in the Northeast Atlantic and the North Sea after 2024.
