Participation of Mercator Ocean International at the 10th EuroGOOS International Conference

The European Global Ocean Observing System (EuroGOOS) which promotes  the development of Operational Oceanography in Europe will hold its 10th International Conference in Galway, from  3th to 5th October, 2023.

Overview

The key objective of the 10th EuroGOOS International Conference aims to showcase the latest research and technologies in oceanography services that benefit society. The three day event will feature plenary, splinter and poster sessions together with roundtables.

Audience & Programme

This conference aims to gather marine scientists and technologists who work in the development of oceanography products and the users of these services (decision and policy-makers, private sector…)

The conference will cover five primary themes (each featuring a range of associated topics):*

  • Theme 1: Innovation and trends in operational oceanography
  • Theme 2: Co-designing operational oceanography
  • Theme 3: Enhancing capacities and inclusivity in operational oceanography
  • Theme 4: Operational Oceanography meeting European societal needs
  • Theme 5: Operational Oceanography for climate services

Mercator Ocean talks and posters

Diverse teams from Mercator Ocean will actively participate in the conference, both as panel chairs or participants, while also delivering talks and presenting posters on a wide range of topics throughout the event.

Jean-Michel Lellouche will present ‘Evolution of the Copernicus Marine Service global ocean analysis and forecasting high-resolution system: potential benefit for a wide range of users’

Posters will be showcased in a dedicated session on October 3th in the poster area.

This conference is an opportunity for Mercator Ocean International to present new European projects (Edito, DTO, etc.) as well as international initiatives (Decade Collaborative Centre).
