Mercator/Coriolis Mission Group
The mission group consists of French and European scientists who are responsible for :
- conducting supporting research on topics of interest for operational oceanography,
- guiding projects dealing with various scientific activities that are necessary to the system development
- participating in scientific validation of products.
The PI’s of the Mission Group are selected each year after an announcement of opportunities. The research proposals submitted are examined and selected by an independent scientific advisory board and the representatives of the Mercator and Coriolis projects .
The President of the Mercator Coriolis Mission Group is Bernard Barnier.
The Scientific Committee members are: Bernard Barnier (President), Jean-Michel Brankart, Fabrizio d’Ortenzio, Fabien Durand, Hervé Giordani, Cyril Lathuilière, Patrick Marsaleix, Christel Pinazo, Gilles Reverdin, Pierre Testor and Bruno Zakardjian.
There is one GMMC scientific meeting each year. The project developments and the research actions leaded by the PI’S are presented and discussed.
